Intro to User Interfaces (UI) Module
This module is designed to teach the basics of creating and implementing user interfaces (UI) in Unreal Engine. It’s intended to be used in an introductory game development course for college students (primarily freshman/sophomores). This module is designed to be demonstrated live in a lab by an instructor, but it can be easily adapted to online learning environments, where the live demonstrations are replaced by demonstration videos.
The main elements of this module are 1) a traditional presentation that introduces UI, 2) demonstrations in Unreal Engine that go over the process creating UI and show examples of how UI can be modified in-game, and 3) an activity that allows students to practice widget creation and updating widgets based on interactions with objects in a level.
